ABOUT THESE REFERENCES

These are industry program references. AGILE’s certification, registration, accreditation and membership status for the listed programs has not been verified. Listings do not represent credentials held by AGILE.

Specialist sectors.
Specific credentials.

Quality systems, inspector qualifications, environmental and safety management, energy performance and petroleum testing.

WHO THESE APPLY TO

These references cover different roles across the energy supply chain: product suppliers, service providers, operators, individual inspectors and laboratories. The relevant credential depends on the entity, site and activities covered.

01 / PROGRAM REFERENCEAPI Q1
PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS PRODUCTS

API Spec Q1 — product quality management

API Spec Q1 addresses quality systems at organizations supplying products to the petroleum and natural gas industry. It is relevant when reviewing equipment and product suppliers in an oil and gas supply chain.

WHAT TO KNOW

APIQR registration covers the organization’s stated management-system scope. Permission to mark qualifying equipment with the API Monogram is a separate licensing matter.

Explore API Q1 registration
02 / PROGRAM REFERENCEAPI Q2
OIL & GAS SERVICE PROVIDERS

API Spec Q2 — service quality management

API Spec Q2 addresses quality systems for exploration and production service providers. Its scope includes critical activities such as well operations, equipment maintenance and inspection.

WHAT TO KNOW

Review the registered services and locations. Applicability depends on the actual operation; customs brokerage alone does not establish API Q2 qualification.

Explore API Q2 registration
03 / PROGRAM REFERENCEISO 29001
PETROLEUM & PETROCHEMICAL SUPPLY

ISO 29001 — sector quality management

ISO 29001 specifies quality-system requirements for organizations supplying products or services to the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas sectors. It provides a sector-focused framework for supplier quality.

WHAT TO KNOW

Review the certificate’s legal entity, locations and covered activities. A management-system certificate does not certify the grade, quantity or ownership of a particular fuel cargo.

04 / PROGRAM REFERENCEAPI ICP
INDIVIDUAL INSPECTOR CREDENTIALS

API 510, 570 & 653 inspectors

API’s Individual Certification Programs include API 510 for pressure vessel inspectors, API 570 for piping inspectors and API 653 for aboveground storage tank inspectors.

WHAT TO KNOW

These credentials belong to named individuals. Check the inspector’s current certification and relevant discipline separately from a company’s certification or a facility’s inspection report.

05 / PROGRAM REFERENCEISO 14001
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

ISO 14001 — environmental systems

ISO 14001 provides a framework for managing an organization’s environmental responsibilities and improving its environmental performance. It can be relevant to energy facilities, suppliers and logistics operations.

WHAT TO KNOW

The certificate’s scope should identify the activities and sites covered. Environmental management certification does not replace the operating permits applicable to a facility.

06 / PROGRAM REFERENCEISO 45001
WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY

ISO 45001 — occupational health & safety

ISO 45001 addresses how organizations identify workplace hazards, manage health and safety risks, and improve their safety systems. Its framework includes worker participation and emergency planning.

WHAT TO KNOW

Certification applies to the defined management system. Employee competence, task-specific training and site-access requirements still need to be assessed for the work involved.

07 / PROGRAM REFERENCEISO 50001
ENERGY PERFORMANCE

ISO 50001 — energy management

ISO 50001 helps organizations manage energy use through objectives, measurement and continuing improvement. It focuses on energy performance, including efficiency, use and consumption.

WHAT TO KNOW

This is an organizational energy-management standard. It is distinct from a certificate of fuel quality, a renewable-energy attribute certificate or permission to trade energy products.

08 / PROGRAM REFERENCEISO/IEC 17025
PETROLEUM TESTING & CALIBRATION

ISO/IEC 17025 — laboratory accreditation

ISO/IEC 17025 sets requirements for laboratory competence and consistent testing and calibration. Accreditation against it can help qualify laboratories performing petroleum and fuel analyses.

WHAT TO KNOW

Check the laboratory’s accredited scope for the specific test method. A cargo’s certificate of analysis must be reviewed against the actual sample, methods and results; laboratory accreditation alone does not certify that cargo.

01 / PROGRAM REFERENCEFDA
FACILITY REGISTRATION

FDA food facility registration

Food facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food for U.S. consumption may need FDA registration, subject to applicable exemptions.

WHAT TO KNOW

FDA issues a registration number, not a food facility registration certificate. Registration must not be presented as FDA endorsement or blanket warehouse approval.

02 / PROGRAM REFERENCEHAZMAT
HANDLING & TRANSPORT

Hazardous materials requirements

Hazardous materials operations require attention to the substance, activity, facility and transport mode. PHMSA outlines training duties for hazmat employers and employees involved in transportation.

WHAT TO KNOW

Training records and any applicable facility permits need to match the actual operation. This reference does not establish an AGILE-operated or certified hazardous materials warehouse.

03 / PROGRAM REFERENCECCS
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Certified Customs Specialist

The NCBFAA Educational Institute offers the CCS designation for trade professionals studying U.S. import requirements. It is a credential held by an individual.

WHAT TO KNOW

A current CCS designation should be associated with its named holder. It is distinct from a company’s customs broker license and permit.

04 / PROGRAM REFERENCECTPAT
SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY

Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism

CTPAT is CBP’s voluntary partnership with eligible members of the trade community to strengthen international supply chain security. Licensed customs brokers are among the eligible business types.

WHAT TO KNOW

05 / PROGRAM REFERENCEISO 9001
QUALITY MANAGEMENT

ISO 9001:2015 & the current edition

ISO 9001 provides requirements for a quality management system, with an emphasis on consistent processes, customer needs and improvement.

WHAT TO KNOW

The reference page lists ISO 9001:2015. ISO now identifies that edition as withdrawn and replaced by ISO 9001:2026. Existing certificate holders should confirm transition arrangements with their certification body.
